Westchester Healthy Start Needs You!

We are encouraging all POWWOW Parents, Friends and Families to support the 4th Annual Healthy Start 5k Walk-a-Thon on April 26, 2008. Kick off is at 9am in the WHS Cafeteria.

In preparation of this event, Healthy Start needs parents and others to assist in:

1. Obtaining sponsors,
2. Contacting businesses,
3. Donations,
4. and signing-up walkers (including yourself)

Cost is only $5, which include t-shirt, food, water, entertainment and a chance to win prizes, but most importantly, this annual event, for all ages, is designed to support free Healthy Start services at Westchester High School, Del Rey High School and Westchester Math Science Aerospace Magnet. Among the services provided are weekly counseling, after-school tutoring, Saturday Academy and parenting classes for parents of students enrolled in these programs.

Please, we strongly encourage all parents, families and friends to support this event and send the message that Healthy Start is an integral school and student resource.
